Janet was born in Denmark, but only spent a couple of years there before moving to Australia with her family. She has always had a soft spot for her “homeland” which has inspired her business adventure of “Hyggelig”. Janet speaks fluent Danish and travels whenever possible to visit family and friends
Janet currently lives in the western suburbs of Melbourne with her Husband Michael. Janet established a career in the travel industry; photographing the world as she went. As her skills and interest grew, Janet broadened her subject matter; seeing the perfect opportunity to combine her love of children with photography. It was photographing children that made Janet realize photography was more than just a weekend hobby. She has always held a great interest in people including children. Using photography as a creative outlet to record memories and moments, she soon established herself as a professional photographer, building her clientele purely from referral and recommendation.”"
“My first memory of photography was going to “Dad’s Zoo” with a pink plastic barbie camera, I remember all the prints had a magenta wash! Hyggelig (pronounced Hew-Ger-ly) is a Danish term used to describe a moment or a feeling. Without a direct translation into English, the best example would be you know that moment that brings a happy sigh and big smile?
